To all:

Does anyone see something in the following EXCLUDE statement that would
still allow the directory path, subdirs, and files to be backed up anyway?

exclude /var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/*.*

This is what the DSMSCHED.LOG reported from yesterday's backup:

/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/name_info.dir [Sent]

03/01/2000 02:01:23 Normal File-->         8,290,304
/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/name_info.pag [Sent]

03/01/2000 02:02:03 Normal File-->         4,194,304
/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/obj_info.pag [Sent]
03/01/2000 02:02:22 Normal File-->            28,672
/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/value_info.dir [Sent]

03/01/2000 02:02:23 Normal File-->     1,656,913,920
/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/value_info.pag  Changed
03/01/2000 04:43:15 Retry # 1  Normal File-->     1,656,913,920
/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/current/value_info.pag  **
Unsuccessful

You can see why we're trying to EXCLUDE the directory and all its
associated
parts: the files under this specific directory can't be used to recover the
machine.

Any information or insight is appreciated.
