Our applications group had to make a vendor specified change to the TCP/IP
setting on two of our servers. Ever since, the backups have been failing
quite regularly with a "ANS1017E Session rejected: TCP/IP connection
failure". The obvious thing would be to undo the changes, unfortunately,
the change had a positive impact on the application. Here are the changes
that were made:
**************
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:SYSTEM:CurrentControlSet:Services:Tcpip:Parameters:MaxUse
rPort
Default is 5000
Was at 10000 Set to 20000 Decimal (0x4e20 Hex)
(This fixes busy connection or connection already in use address already in
use - error increase number of ports available to the client (child).
Default is 5000.)
SYSTEM:SERVICES:TCPIP:PARAMETERS:TcpTimedWaitDelay:
Default is 240
Change from 120 Decimal to 60 Decimal
************
Is there any way to compensate for these changes with modifications to the
client DSM.OPT settings? Or as a last resort, changes to the server? AIX
4.3.2, ADSM 3.1.2.40.
Thanks.
