Hi SM*rs I am under considerable pressure to pull ADSM out and install an
alternative tool. The reasoning behind this being response and recovery
times of large servers are unacceptable and the non-existence of HSM type
functionality for NT clients.

I am currently gathering enough information to ensure that ADSM at the
mainframe and client is fully tuned. Also that the network also is running
at its maximum capacity. In other words I am doing my best to justify
keeping this product.

I realise that there are various competitors/tools out there, Arcserve,
Legato, Veritas to name few. I do not have a problem with ADSM but would
like to ask the question 'if any of you researched any of these products
when deciding to purchase ADSM/TSM' I am sure all products have there
strengths and weaknesses but would like alternative opinons on whether
anyone has used these products in comparison to ADSM.

Your advice is critical and would be very helpful in justifying me keeping
ADSM/TSM.
