Subject: TSM 3.7 and 'Unsupported Client Platforms'

Hello all,

Well - now that you broke the news to me about non-support of ADSM
3.1
after 1/1/2001, I am forced to start planning an upgrade to TSM 3.7. I
read in
the announcement 299-282 dated 9/28/1999 regarding the MVS OS/390 server,
that
"the following client platforms or operating systems supported in ADSM V3.1
were
not migrated to V3.7 and are not supported in V3.7:" .... AIX 4.1 and 4.2,
HP-UX 10.2, Novell Netware 4.10 and Windows NT 3.5.1 to name a few.

Now - what does this mean??? If I have a HP-UX 10.2 client under
ADSM 3.1
code, can it be backed up to a TSM 3.7 OS/390 server? Can it restore from
a TSM
3.7 OS/390 server? Or does it mean that no matter what level client code
it is
running (even TSM 3.7), it cannot interface with a 3.7 server under a 10.2
operating system?

                    Ginny
