I have administrative command schedules that do all that sort of stuff...
daily I do stuff like
00:05 audit lic (to update the auditocc info)
08:00 upd stg diskpool high=20 low=0  (start migration disk->tape)
12:00 upd stg diskpool high=80 low=50  (stop migration)
12:00 expire inv
13:00 backup db t=f s=y dev=3590devc
14:00 upd stg tapepool recl=80   (start reclamation)
17:00 upd stg tapepool recl=100  (stop reclamation)
