Dave,

I was under the impression that 28.8 is the highest UPLOAD speed available.  All
the speed improvements have been aimed at making downloads faster as the average
user downloads far more data than they upload.  If that's the case then 4Kb/s is
about the best that you could hope for.

Any clues on performance tuning for dialup users?
A laptop dialed in over a 56K modem is only doing
about 4KB/s
