Hi Stefan,

If you have REPORT=2 option set in BACKINT initSID.utl parm file, you will get
summary info in the backint log, which includes message like : BKI2019I:
Compression ratio for backup was 1.46. This is with rl_compression set on in
Backint. Backint manual recommends using rl_compression instead of ADSM
compression.

Hi,
when I backup datafiles with Backint using ADSMs compression ("compression
forced on by the server"), where can I see the actual compression rate?
Nothing is logged in the /usr/adsm/adsm.log-file, and in the backint-logs
there is no information about compression rates.
And: is it possible (and advisable) to combine ADSMs compression with the
RL-compression and software-compression-command of Backint?
TIA,
Stefan Wolf
