Tivoli Storage Manager Version 3.7 exploits the Storage Area Network (SAN)
technology for dynamic tape library sharing. With this function, multiple
Tivoli Storage Manager servers can dynamically share library volume and
tape drive resources of one physical tape library. Using the Fibre Channel
technology of SANs, distances between the tape library and the Tivoli
Storage Manager server can be extended.
