Fellow ADSMers,

We are in the processing of migrating our OpenMail system to a new box
and are taking the opportunity to install OnlineJFS on top of VXFS file
systems.

We are using the following:

HP-UX 10.2 with latest patches
ADSM Client 3.1.0.7 (latest for 10.2)
ADSM Server 3.1.2.40 on AIX 4.2.1

The restore of an Online JFS file system to a normal file system
results in the client aborting, reporting that it has failed on 1 file
& the following error message turns up in the client log.

ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager
Command Line Backup Client Interface - Version 3, Release 1, Level 0.7
(C) Copyright IBM Corporation, 1990, 1999, All Rights Reserved.

12/29/99 15:26:14 TransErrno: Unexpected error from
fioMakeDirectory:mkdir, errno = 22
12/29/99 15:26:14 ANS1028S Internal program error. Please see your
service representative.
12/29/99 15:26:15 ANS1028S Internal program error. Please see your
service representative.

Has anybody seen this before? In the past we have used the 3.1.0.0
client without this problem occuring.

Regards,
Simon
errno 22 means
#define EINVAL          22      /* Invalid argument             */
The man pages do not report such an error code for the mkdir call.

What is the Online JFS file system? Is ADSM supporting it?
Are you using ACL's?
