The story begins thusly:
Yesterday,
Ran out of scratch tapes, and so the recovery log got too big. Two file spaces
were created with dsmfmt and "dsmserv extend log..." was performed. Server came
up and a database backup was done, recovery log size went to zippo. Then, the
/tmp filespaces that were used to extend the log were rm'd, but not reduced via
ADSM, so the dsmserv.dsk still lists those two files.
Then ADSM core dumped and filled /usr to 100% (AIX ver 4.3.2)
got /usr down to a workable state, and tried to restart adsm server. It barked
at me about the /tmp filespaces that had been OS removed. So I re- did the
dsmfmt and extend log. Server still doesn't like me.
If I do a dsmserv restore db preview=yes, this is what I get :-(
root@d53a04 $dsmserv restore db preview=yes
