Hi Tim,

I built all the infrastructure for HACMP'ing ADSM but haven't got around to
installing the HACMP code to do automagic failover.
I can manually failover between to nodes......

HACMP Requirements

The evg0101 volume group has been created and imported between the ADSM
servers sd0101e0 and sd0201e0. All storage pools and database/log volumes
exist in this volume group.

The standard ADSM startup script ?/usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/rc.adsmserv has
been commented out of /etc/inittab on both machines and the scripts
/sp/adsm/sd0101e0_adsm and /sp/adsm/sd0201e0_adsm exist in it?s place. ADSM
will need to be started manually until HACMP has been installed and
implemented. The scripts /sp/adsm/sd0*01e0_adsm test the availability of
the SP switch network and add and alias address (the service address), then
varyon the evg0101 volume group and mount all ADSM filesystems. The script
will then start the ADSM server process. This script will ultimately be
executed by the HACMP startup process.

The common ADSM configuration files have been stored in the vg evg0101
under the /var/adsm/common filesystem and symbolic links have been used to
link them from the /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin directory. The files required to
exist on /var/adsm/common are: dsmserv.dsk, dsmserv.opt, nodelock,
dsmaccnt.log.

The ADSM server has been tested and started on both sd0101e0 and sd0201e0
and used to backup clients. The clients point to the aliased service
address that gets passed between the two servers.

 Disk Layout

ADSM will be using 8 x 9.1GB SSA disks (adsmvg) to manage the ADSM
database and log files. The database and log files will mirrored in ADSM.
The AIX files associated with the ADSM mirrors will be managed accross two
SSA draws to increase availability.
