Mark, et al.,

The transaction logs for the Directory database and
the Information store databases are also backed up
through TDP for Microsoft Exchange (or whatever
"Exchange" aware on-line backup tool you are using.)

Backing up the logs while the Exchange server is up
will bring you unpredictable results at restore time
because the logs may be in an inconsistent state.

yes but you still need to backup the log files even if you are using an
Exchange agent...
or are the log files backed up through the agent?
