You can run a Qualstar 4440 library: four AIT2 drives, and 40 slots.  That
gives you 2 TB native and a bunch more with compression.  This all for Basic
Device Support.  Double it to a 4480 with Extended device support.  The cost
of these robots is significantly less than most.  You can probably use the
difference to pay for Extended Device Support.

Then you can grow to the Qualstar BadBoy TLS 412360, 12 AIT2 drives, 360
Tapes a Grundel of capacity.  Grundel being a technical term.  Did I mention
it's way fast?  I saw 100 GB an hour tape to tape using only four drives
(that's two streams, tape to tape).  Sustained.  I think this AIT2 stuff
might catch on...
