Hi,
on HP-UX, there's a command backfm (backint filemanager) that lets you
retrieve single files from the backint-filespace. Get all the files that Tom
is talking about and you will be able to use sapdba to recover. You will
also need the *.log, *.ssd, *.dsd (and the like) files from
/oracle/<SID>/saparch.
You can also retrieve the whole database with backfm, and if the backup was
an offline backup, you don't even have to recover.
