I seem to remember we had this problem a long, long time ago and it had
something to do with having Macintosh files and Windows files on the same
server.  Unfortunately, I don't remember what the resolution was.  Not much
help, I know, but it might give you a place to start looking.

Has anyone seen this in your activity log?

ANR9999D smexec.c(1171): Session 14976 with client QIO-DM
                          (WinNT) rejected - server does not support the
UNICODE                           mode that the client was requesting.
