I get a list of WinNT clients from the server (NODE_NAME, CONTACT from nodes 
where platform_name='WinNT'), and use samba's smbclient to get the dsmerror.log 
back to a unix box.  There I do the grep to look for errors...
You need the NT admin to set up a share that points to the adsm directory on 
each NT box...
