I've had the same problem some time ago,

as far as I could remember the auditdb partition=diskstorage helps.

You can determine this by running the audit db partition=diskstorage online
as a preview.

Or you might have to define partition=archstorage.

With defining partitions the amount of time used for auditing will decrease
and the online preview will show you how long it will last.
