Tape & Client compression option

I have 3 types of clients, NT, AIX, HP.  ADSM server is running on
RS/6000-AIX, using Magastar as backup device(3570).
I need to activate Tape & Client compression option. Any body had the same
scenario, if yes, please share.
What should I do on client and server side?  What should I do on Magastar
drive side.
