Re: Registry Backup Failure - why?

I don't know if this situation applies to you, but we recently had registry
backup failure due to the fact that the client was executing the ADSM client
code from a subdirectory on a file server and did not have "write" access to
that subdirectory.
If the ADSM client is on the client workstation, remember that the user has
to be a member of the Administrators group and Backup Operators group on
their workstation.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Registry Backup Failure - why?
Hello all,
A backup failed on one of our NT Clients (3.1.0.3) last night because it
had some sort of problem backing up the registry. I searched
www.adsm.org for this same problem, but the solution someone had given
didn't seem to apply to our situation. (It said to remove the read-only,
hidden and system attributes of a file c:\windows\adsmtemp and that file
doesn't exist on this server) I have included some lines from the
dsmsched.log.

Return code = 4.
Could anyone tell me how I could rectify this? Thank you much for your
time!
