I saw exactly the same thing during a disaster test last week. We logged a
call with IBM, but still no word. This is totally unacceptable behavior and
renders ADSM on Solaris all but useless. Heaven help you during a real
disaster or even during a simple database corruption cycle.

I would like for someone to address this. When I mentioned it last week,
the only response I got back was someone telling me this is "normal" for the
Solaris platform. I'll tell you what, if this were "normal" for AIX ADSM
would be dead, dead, dead.

Everyone knows where my ADSM loyalties are, but this situation is
unacceptable. If IBM/Tivoli is going to market the product on Solaris, then
it damn well ought to work. If it doesn't pull it. I've installed ADSM in
practically every environment now. Solaris with the SPARC hardware is hot
stuff. A really great place to run ADSM. Until, that is, you need to
restore a database. What's up with that?

Flame off.
