Re: Labels in shared 3494

I use exit CBRUXENT, there is a sample exit in SYS1.SAMPLIB. The exit
gets control for each tape inserted in the ATL. My mainframe tapes
have serial numbers that start with A and my AIX tapes have serial
numbers that start with B. For tapes with a serial number starting
with A the exit sets the return code to 0 (insert the cartridge into
the tape library), for tapes that start with B the exit sets a return
code of 12 (LEAVE THE CARTRIDGE IN THE INSERT CATEGORY X'FF'). The
tapes in X'FF' status then need to be labeled and checked in to ADSM
on the AIX system. As was mentioned in another reply, you need to use
different scratch and private codes for the tapes.

Hy guys !
I have an 3494 library equiped with six 3590 drives.
This library is shared between a Mainframe and my ADSM for NT.
The mainframe has 4 of the six drives and the ADSM, the other 2 drives.
My main problem is : How do I label my tapes ? Once I insert then into
the bulk,
the gripper picks up the tape as stores it into de library ! I do not want
to label the mainframe tapes that are already into the library
(search=yes). I know that this library is capable of distinguing between
ADSM tapes and Mainframe tapes, using the private and scratch category
that i defined with the library.
Does anyone has experienced something like this ?!
Thaks all!
