        Matt,
        as an SMS server i based on an MSSQL database your task is to backup
such an
        MSSQL database. 
        Now this database is usually very small so it doen't make much sense
to use
        the ADSMConnect agent for MS SQL databases. Instead simply use the
builtin
        function of the SQL server to online dump the database into files.
Exclude
        the database devices (usually the files in ?:\mssql\data\...\*) from
your
        backup and save the daily created dumps instead. Be sure to also
export the
        exact layout of the MASTER table as you have to recreate all devices
prior
        to being able to restore them later.
