Hi Dana,

thank you for your answer. We migrated our ADSM-Data from 9490 to Magstar
also in a STK-Silo, but we see improvements in reallife of 5 to 6 times in
throughput rate. I agree with you, that ADSM uses a lot of CPU for
migratio,reclamation etc, but to only get out the same throuput on 9840 is
poor for such devices. How have you attached your 9840 parallel or ESCON?

Andreas,
So far, throughput is roughly the same as we are getting on 9490's mostly
due to the fact that our ADSM server is CPU bound doing migrates.  One time
saving is the approx 30 tape mounts of standard E tapes replaced by one
9840 mount (all being done in a STK silo).
