Using Tivoli Data Protection for Workgroups , SG24-5490-00
Abstract:
Do you have any NT machines that need fast an easy backup with
baremetal restore capability and optional scheduling and tracking by
ADSM / Tivoli Storage Management?
This redbook will help you install, tailor and configure Tivoli Data
Protection for Workgroups (TDPfW) to do just that. Chapter 1 contains an
introduction to TDPfW showing its purpose and where it fits into an
enterprise?s overall storage management solution. Chapter 2 covers
hardware and software requirements and installation considerations.
Chapter 3 covers operations procedures and the regular tasks required to
manage its usage. Chapter 4 details implementation considerations and
provides a view "under the covers" of areas such as logging,
communications with TSM, the boot process, and tape support. Chapter 5
describes the changes and new features that are available with TDPfW
Version 1.1.0.1., a free of charge update. Chapter 6 shows how to backup
and restore Microsoft Cluster Server with TDPfW with a focus on the
integration of TDPfW into the cluster and special configurations running on
the MSCS. Armed with TDPfW and this book you're all set to implement a
solution that is easy to setup and understand and that can grow with your
enterprise storage management plans.
