This is one of those instances where terminology gets screwed up. "mirrorng"
versus
having an "official backup" of data. Granted "breaking the mirror" has been
known
to work as a backup.

In terms of Disk STGPOOLS...

-- For the love of God, use JFS. For ALL DB, LOG, DATA vols.
At the very least its a safety measure, won't go into details.

Don't question the word on this one, just do it. Forget you ever
heard the word RAW LV. RAWLV w/ADSM is just asking for trouble.

-- SSA, don't try anything fancy. Don't expect peak performance when using
with ADSM. Yeah, everyone drops a horde of money into these arrays
with ADSM. Yeah, everyone drops a horde of money into these arrays
and get mediocre results. Its a known thing..hint..hint..

-- When using AIX mirroring, don't expect big boosts in performance. If
this
this
turns into a key selling point, find other things to do with your time.
