Saving device config and volume hist files

Daily I create copy of DEVCONFIG.BK1 and VOLHIST.BK1 under a separate
directory from ADSm...
If at some point either file is deleted or corrupt, and I use one of these to
restore with...how will ADSM react?
Keep in mind that the ADSM database is fine.
1. If I restore the VOLHIST.BK1, run an AUDITDB to sync it with the database?
(i know volume history info is kept in the database)
2 If I restore the DEVCONFIG.BK1, nothing else is needed??!!
