A look at the statistics for installed, commercial Unix systems belies
that assertion...and that doesn't even count the tremendous growth in
Linux.  Little Unix started in the 1960s and simply by popularity
overtook even mammoth established mainframe operating systems, as Unix
drove open systems.  It shows no sign of slowing down.  If Unix was as
irrelevant as you claim, Microsoft would not have gone to such trouble
to provide Unix-like facilities in NT.
