No, we aren't getting close to the point you are at.

In the Device Information list in the Server Utilites, the drives all show
up as GENERICTAPE.  This means that ADSMSCSI does not recognize the drive as
a legal, supported drive.  But this seems very strange, so I was asking
around if anybody else has been able to get AIT-2 drives recognized by
ADSMSCSIl.
