Well, you have to "set accounting off" from within ADSM (from an admin
     session) ya'know.

I do it on a monthly basis...
I wait until there are no currently active client sessions (to
minimize the chance of accounting information loss...)
     set accounting off
     copy dsmaccnt.log to temp
     do a :
         grep $(date +%m)\/..\/$(date +%Y) /tmp/dsmaccnt.log >
     /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/dsmaccnt.log
     then set accounting on

what the grep will do is take any current months data and plop it back
     into the accounting log

then you can do the same grep with the -v option on the
/tmp/dsmaccnt.log to get last months accounting records isolated
(have to make sure and run it monthly

     Dwight

On AIX, what is the best/safest way to purge the activity log
(dsmaccnt.log) of records that are older than some specified date?
