A search of www.adsm.org turns up the November 18 posting:

this is a known problem. It is apar IX80642 for the AIX
 4.2 and 4.3 platforms. For other platforms, this is apar
 IC19912. This problem is fixed in the 3.1.0.5 level of
 the client.
