Do not discard the data, use 'move data' command to move the data from
the volume to the same stgpool (you must have more than 1 drive), you
can also move data to higher primary stgpool, such as a disk pool
(assuming your tape stgpool has been specified as the next stgpool for
the disk stgpool). The volume will be changed to 'empty' or 'pending'
status depending on your 'reuse delay'. If it is empty you will be able
to delete it. If you choose to perform 'audit volume' first that will be fine.

' q content <volumename>  count=10'  to check if the tape truly does
not contain any files.
