Yes, Wanda,

DEVTYPE=ECART is a solution. If you specify a 9840(C) Format,
the  server generates a 'STK_9840' device name when communicating with the
interface of an EXTERNAL tape library. I hope whole-heartedly,
our tape control software will learn this one day.
