Hi Robert,
I got exactly the same error message as you do here about weeks ago. I
attached a Magstar MP 3570C to an inappropriate SCSI controller. What you
may do is take a look of the hardware specifications of your backup device
(if it is an IBM product, read it from the sale manual). My problem has
been solved once I installed the proper adapter.
