Additionally, the server does not "decompress" the data when it goes to a
disk storage pool.  In fact, we have seen cases where if you are using both
client compression and drive compression, the data can actually grow after
the second compression pass.

The server uses estimated capacity on tapes based on the native
(non-compressed) value for the media.  Once the tape reaches the estimated
capacity, you will often see the volume hit 100% capacity and filling with
the estimated capacity continuing to grow.

Sometimes you will see tapes that are full, at less than 100% utilized.  If
you issue

adsm> q vol 19500 f=d

you will probably see that the volume has 42.1% reclaimable space.

Finally, if you leave the est/max capacity field in the devclass definition
blank, with the format set to drive, ADSM will calculate the estimated
capacity based on the density that the drive is writing the media.
