We have the ADSM client loaded on all our NT Workstations. If a NT
Workstation experiences a disk failure we have a very simple procedure to
restore. We install a new hard disk of at least the same size in a different
computer that has NT and the ADSM client software already installed. We
partition and format the new drive on the spare system as drive D:. We then
use ADSM to restore the failed system's hard drive to drive D:. We copy the
ADSM.SYS registry files to the correct place, mark the partition as active
and use it to replace the failed drive. It usually takes less than an hour
to completely restore the system to an identical state which is acceptable
for us.
