Thanks for the response.

Just after I went out to the car to get my sledge hammer - I had a thought!!

I forgot, silly me, that the devconfig not only has the device configuration
information in it, but also has the
tapes in the robot!! between/* and */ to look like comments!!!. They aren't.
Thats why when the robot unloaded
my tape, which I had preloaded, it put it in a slot that wasn't covered in the
devconfig file. So, next time
I ran the restore expecting dsmserv to find the tape it just moved, it didn't
coz ADSM wasn't running to update the file.

I simply swapped the the DB restore tape with an existing full slot, updated
the devconfig file, ran the
restore and swapped it back again afterwards, then ran and Audit library.

Couldn't do the audit before, coz you need ADSM up and running.

So, I think:

1) The product needs to be better in this area.

2) The doc certainly needs to be better - I can find NO documentation thats
supports what I had to do.

3) Buy you all a beer for assisting me!
