You may find that when you review the dsmsched.log there will be a
particular file and/or directory
that has failed to back up. Depending on the type of error that was
determined, it will cause your backup
to reflect a failed status even though everything else was backed up
successfully.

You will need to look up the specific error message regarding that file to
determine the error condition.

Subject: What are Conditions for a Failed Backup Schedule

On the ADSM server there are completed, missed, failes or severed
backup
schedules. Actually whe have backup schedules that terminate
successfully.
However on the server there is a failed indication.
Does a backup which terminates after the backup time window result in
a
failed backup? Is there a description about the condition for failed
     backups?

     Thanks for any help
