Your idea is right. You should create another client on the same
machine.

After installing the ADSM connect agent, you have to edit the dsm.sys
and the dsm.opt in the connect installation directory. Then register the
new node and initialize the password.

Follow the instructions in the redbook 'Using ADSM to backup databases',
on chapter 7 or 8 (depends on your Oracle version).
