If you just want to turn mail off for a while, send mail to the list server
(not the list) as shown:

To: ADSM Commander <LISTSERV AT VM.MARIST DOT EDU>
Subject: (doesn't matter)

SET ADSM-L NOMAIL

If you want to unsubscribe, change the body of the message to:

SIGNOFF ADSM-L
