Johan,

I encountered a similar problem when I set up ADSM using a 3570. When I
checked in my tapes for the first time, I executed the command:

label libv maglib labelsource=barcode checkin=scratch overwrite=no
>search=yes

The key thing in my situation is that there wasn't a label on the tape,
or if there was, it didn't match the barcode. So when I tried to access
a volume in my library, I wasn't able to. It wasn't until I ran the
command with overwrite=yes that my volumes where labeled and accessible.

In your particular situation, it sounds like you are trying to add a new
volume to an existing library, correct? If so, you could use the
search=bulk to request that the volume in the entry/exit ports of the
library be searched and labeled.

I hope this helps, if not check page 405 of the ADSM Administrators
guide, and it should answer you questions.

James
