Actually, this is a function of the controller, and one can purchase a
controller that allows connections to any scsi devices, and can then strip
across them. The one we had was connected to two DLT400's. The
controller could also operate in an offline tape-2-tape copy mode, which
was why we got it. The manufactuer of this hardware eludes me just now,
but I could look it up if anyone is interested...
