Joshua,
There is a fixtest (IC22704) for OS/2 Lotus Notes agent recently posted on
the index server to enhance this performance issue.
Fixtest for IC22704 is available on
server : INDEX.STORSYS.IBM.COM
directory : /adsm/fixtest/v3r1/os2/

Subject: Re: Low performance with Notes Backup Agent
From my experience using the ADSMConnect Agent for Lotus Notes on AIX, I
will watch a "dsmnotes incr" backup start. At first the Connect Agent will
send a lot of data to the server. Then after a while, the server starts
sending A LOT of data back to the client. Sometimes if I am running a
large
incremental or full backup, the server ends up sending the client 2-3 times
the amount of data that the client sends that server.
I agree with your response - that is exactly how the B-A clients work - but
having the server send 2-3 times the amount of data that the clients sends
is what I would call one of those "features."
