try a "q cont xxxvolserxxx" to see if adsm thinks there is anything on
     them still....

     Other than that it could be your "reuse delay" preventing you from
     using them currently... might have to wait your "reuse delay" days
     prior to being able to use them as scratch again.

Subject: Tape Volumes

I have a situation where four volumes   ADSM14, ADSM16, ADSM17 & ADSM18 can
not be used.

When I do a    query volume history, there is an entry for each of the above
volumes. I have tried to delete the volume history but the entry for the
above volumes remain.

When I do a    query sequential storage pool the above volumes do not show.

When I try to use the above volumes as a scratch tape I get the message they
are already in use and the tape is dismounted.

Does anyone know how I can eliminate these volumes from ADSM and be able to
use the for scratch tapes.
