Nathan,
Lately, I have seen evidence of IBM including FC in their products and
plans. For example, they sell FC drives, and the Versatile Storage Server
has FC interfaces into it. I think you are right in that there are other
vendors who have stronger emphasis on FC than IBM does. IBM has pushed SSA
in the past, and I credit them for getting their SSA products to market
before FC was available. Now that FC products are available, it will be
interesting to see how things settle out. Personally, I expect the two
technologies may merge together over time.
