Don,
the commethod tcpip should be ok, and it should be located in the dsm.sys file,
in the server definition. Maybe you just put it to the wrong place ( dsm.opt
).
The AIX files could look like this:
dsm.sys:
servername server_a
commethod tcpip
tcpport 1500
tcpserveraddress xxx.yyy.zzz.www
etc.
dsm.opt:
servername server_a
etc.

Subject: New AIX Client
I am attempting to set up my first AIX client. I have set up four NT servers
without a lot of
trouble, but I am having trouble getting the AIX Client to work. I have all the
files set up and
it all looks pretty much like the NT servers, but whenever I start the DSMC it
gives me the
following error:
ANS1038S
Invalid option 'commmethod tcpip' found in options file.
The file looks fine and this ANS1038S error does not appear in my copy of the
messages guide.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!
