Ray,
I had the same problem on some systems when I use the dsm.sys which was
installed by default. The serves which have had problems have dsm.sys
that look like the one below:
*//ADSM_LOCAL_SERVER_STANZA
Servername localSrv
TCPPort 1500
TCPServeraddress f2n5e
PASSWORDAccess Generate
*//END_ADSM_LOCAL_SERVER_STANZA
*//ADSM_TOUR_STANZA
Servername adsmTour
TCPPort 32767
TCPServeraddress f2n5e
PASSWORDAccess Generate
*//END_ADSM_TOUR_STANZA
ERRORLOGRETENTION 7
SCHEDLOGRETENTION 7
INCLEXCL /usr/lpp/adsm/bin/inclexcl
I added the last three lines which were all ignored. However, the
following dsm.sys works just fine.
Servername localSrv
TCPServeraddress f2n5c
PASSWORDAccess Generate
ERRORLOGRETENTION 7
SCHEDLOGRETENTION 7
INCLEXCL /usr/lpp/adsm/bin/inclexcl
I deleted the first dsm.sys and keyed in the entries I wanted and the
include, exclude statements worked as expected. I cannot tell you why
the first file causes a problem, I just know that once I used the second
file and ran "dsmc incr" the files I wanted excluded were expired as
expected and were no longer backed up.
