Re: Restored volume incomplete.

First you should try to understand what was not restored and
perhaps why it was not restored. Examine the activity log from'
the time the RESTORE VOLUME started through the time it ended
to verify that there were no errors encountered during the
restore.
Next you might try restoring the volume from your offsite pool:
RESTORE VOLUME VOL6 COPYSTGPOOL=OFFSITEPOOL PREVIEW=YES
The PREVIEW=YES will enable you to see which volumes need to
be retrieved from the offsite location.
If the OFFSITE pool can not restore any additional files then
it is likely the unrestored files will remain that way. The
next thing to do would be to run QUERY CONTENT for that
volume to determine exactly what was lost. It is possible that
the lost files were created before another BACKUP STGPOOL was
run.
If the files are permanently lost, then you will need to run
DELETE VOLUME with DISCARDDATA=YES to remove the volume
completely.

Hello,
A tape went bad - vol6 due to tape unit hardware problems. The tape has
been replaced and the restore volume command run as indicated below. Since
not all the files were restored, vol6 is left in a destroyed state. I'm not
sure what to do with vol6 at this point! We have a copypool and an offsite
pool. The recovery was from tapes in the copypool. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
