OK, remember that the requestor of an archive is the owner of the
archive and no other ID, unless given permission, can get to it... so
if root requested the archive, then only root can get to it.
Look into who/how the archives were performed and use that ID to
retrieve the files...
hope this helps,
later,
Dwight

Hi,
We use ADSM Server 3.1.1.5 and Clients 3.1 Level 0.5 on AIX 4.2.1
I can't retrieve files from clients from all filesystems
My commands on the server are:
q occu sp17 type=archive
SP17 Arch /export/h- SYSTEM_AR- 1 468 85.06 85.06
ome/is/01 CHIVE
SP17 Arch /export/h- SYSTEM_AR- 6 220 5 368.64 5 368.64
ome/gues- CHIVE
ts
That means 1468 files in /export/home/is/01
and 6220 files in /export/home/guests
The select command is ok:
select * from archives where NODE_NAME='SP17'
AND FILESPACE_NAME='/export/home/is/01'
shows files like
NODE_NAME: SP17
FILESPACE_NAME: /export/home/is/01
TYPE: FILE
HL_NAME: /roberto/
LL_NAME: .kshrc
OBJECT_ID: 35429606
ARCHIVE_DATE:
OWNER: root
DESCRIPTION: roberto
CLASS_NAME: DEFAULT
Now the client:
q file
.
12 12/03/1998 02:45:47 JFS /export/home/guests
13 12/03/1998 03:03:47 JFS /export/home/is/01
.
q archive -subdir=yes "/export/home/guests/*"
lists 12 files
dsmc> q archive -subdir=yes "/export/home/is/01/*"
ANS1092E No files matching search criteria were found
The GUI lists only the 12 files in /export/home/guests
I need my files !!!!!!!
