Yes, you can backup logs to disk and database to tape.
In your inclexcl file on the client specify
INCLUDE /dbname/dbname(whatever it is)/*/0 diskmgmtclass    (points the logs
to the disk managment class)
INCLUDE /dbname/dbname.../0/* tapemgmtclass   (for the dbspaces)

in our case, the dbname is chpftecdevshm, so our includes say
INCLUDE /chpftecdevshm/chpftecdevshm/*/0 LOGPOOL
etc.
