Joel,

Deciding what to backup and what not to backup is probably the hardest
decision to make. There are many things you need to consider.

At our site we do not backup any individual workstations but concentrate on
backing up the servers. Users are expected to have their data on the servers
that they are assigned to use on the company LAN. The hardest thing to do is
to determine the retention policies as you will not be able to please all of
the people all of the time.
There will be a lot of compromise as you will probably not want to define
many different policies to accomadate individual users.
